The Theatre

The North Wall Theatre is a flexible space, normally available for hire with a conventional end-on stage and a seating capacity of 191. In this configuration the stage measures 7.2m x 4.5m. Stalls seats have backs, while upper and lower gallery seats consist of padded benches with a padded bar on which to lean.

Other configurations include a larger end-on stage, a side thrust, traverse and in the round. There is an extra charge to set up any of these alternative lay-outs.

There are two dressing rooms holding a maximum of 20, with showers, toilets and disabled facilities.

The theatre is also equipped with a grand piano, available to hire at a cost of £50. We can also arrange tuning if required, at an extra cost.

The theatre is available for one-off commercial hires, arts, conference and training events. Please contact us with details of your requirements.

For professional, community and amateur groups wishing to mount their own performance event in the venue, please submit an application, with your choice of dates, your requirements, and as much detail of your company and your intended event as possible, including samples of work, weblinks etc. if appropriate, and we will get back to you within 2 weeks of your submission.

Hire Charges

The charity rate for hiring the theatre is £400 plus an obligatory charge of £15 + VAT per hour, with a minimum charge of £50 + VAT for the services of a technician.

The standard rate for hiring the theatre is £500 plus an obligatory charge of £15 + VAT per hour, with a minimum charge of £50 + VAT for the services of a technician.

The North Wall can offer box office services at a charge of 8%+VAT on all the tickets we sell. We provide an online booking system and our box office is open Monday – Friday 10am-4pm.
